As a licensed broker in Vermont and New Hampshire, and with over 15 years hospitality business brokerage experience, Gary has been involved in the sale of over 50 hospitality properties ranging in size from small B&B's, restaurants and large full service country inns valued in the millions of dollars.

Gary's background and experience include owning a bed and breakfast inn in Vermont for 12 years and over 30 years experience in the management of clubs, hotels and restaurants. He has been involved with large national corporate chains in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles, and exclusive private clubs and restaurants in Connecticut.

Gary has a degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. He has attended and spoken at numerous seminars sponsored by the National Restaurant Association, Vermont Lodging & Restaurant Association and the Professional Association of Innkeepers International. He is a member of PAII, VLRA and Cornell Society of Hotelmen.

Gary has two sons and lives at the Bolton Valley Ski Resort in Bolton, Vermont with his wife Gayle.

Wendy Beach, Partner/Broker

Wendy graduated from Middlebury College in 1986 with a keen interest in languages, travel, and tourism. Between 1986 and 1994, she gained experience in the hospitality industry working at three different resorts with a focus on sales and marketing. This work experience was an ideal entrée into the field of hospitality business brokerage as she gained first hand experience in operations, food and beverage, sales, and marketing.

In 1993, she married her husband Bob, who owns and operates Basin Harbor Club with his sister. Basin Harbor is a historic, family run resort with 140 rooms on Lake Champlain. Through Basin Harbor, Wendy remains connected to the challenges and benefits associated with running a hospitality business in Vermont.

Since 1994, Wendy has been in the real estate business and in 1998, she started the Hearthside Group with partner, Gary Gosselin. They have had great success with their company and have expanded their operation to include four hospitality specialists.

Wendy and Bob have two children and live at Basin Harbor.

Pamela Long, Broker

Pamela Long has specialized in hospitality business brokerage for 7 years. Pam earned a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Art History from Connecticut College in 1980. She proceeded to work in the family real estate business for 17 years where she was one of the top five residential sales people in Southern Vermont for many years and also handled all the advertising and marketing for the family business.

In the fall of 1997, Pam joined the nationally acclaimed Inn consulting firm of Oates & Bredfeldt. At Oates & Bredfeldt, Pam worked as the Transaction Manager overseeing close to 30 Inn sales all over the eastern seaboard. Her area of expertise was seeking out Inn financing sources and helping buyers put together business plans to obtain the best available financing terms for their particular Inn acquisition. Pam joined the Hearthside Group in January of 2000 and has handled the sale of 14 businesses in Vermont and New Hampshire since then. She continues to specialize in helping buyers put together business plans and obtain competitive financing terms.

Lisa Hoare, Sales Associate

As The Hearthside Group’s newest sales professional, Lisa brings a variety of knowledge and experience to the company.

With four years in the travel industry, Lisa has experienced many aspects of the hospitality business both as a customer representative and as a guest, from large hotels to small, family owned bed and breakfasts in Europe and the United States. Having also worked for a number of years in the restaurant industry, she used these experiences, as well as her training in customer service, to transition into a successsful career in Dining Room Management and Group Sales & Marketing for a busy Vermont ski resort.

The combination of travel, restaurant, lodging and sales & marketing experience has proven to be the perfect background for a career in hospitality business brokerage. As a native Vermonter, Lisa offers extensive knowledge and a deep-rooted love for the beautiful state of Vermont.

Lisa resides outside of Burlington and when not in the office, she enjoys exploring the Green Mountains on skis, snowshoes or in hiking boots and finds peace working in the vegetable and flower gardens near her home.
